Christmas Gifts - Week 9

¡Buenas Todos!

I hope everyone had a good Christmas, because I sure did! I want to say thank you to Brother James. He and his family sent me money to buy presents for the members and investigators. For our p-day last week we went and bought toys for a few of our member families, recent converts, and a few investigator families. We also made a sort of Christmas Card for all of the member families. It was such a pleasure to go around to all of them during "Noche Buena" and give all the kids their presents. They were all so grateful. We returned Christmas day and all the kids were so grateful for their presents. I've included pictures of a few of the families.

Then, as our Christmas gift, we had 4 baptisms the next day! Morris (16) and Diego (10), then Elsa (11) and Maria Antonia (8). Even though they are all little (except for Morris) it was still a pleasure to be able to see them baptized. I had the opportunity to baptize Maria Antonia and Elsa and the Branch President Ruano baptized Morris and Diego. My first baptisms!! It is good to see the fruits of our labors here in Mita. Only Diego and Morris were confirmed because the Elsa and Maria Antonia arrived late. They are the ones who live 3 km out of town. And because they don't have a car they have to walk and hope someone offers them a ride. Its a big sacrifice for them to come to church but they make it every Sunday. I used to dread the walk out to their house because it was so far, but now it doesn't even phase me and I'm glad to do it. Their family lives in humble circumstances but the are solid members in the church. All of them converts.

I hope you all had a good Christmas and I wish you a happy new year.
